History

ICU tech operates as two independent companies in Poland and Switzerland that share the same vast experience, unique know-how, a very capable team, and never-changing overall excellence in software, hardware, and everything in between.

This is a glimpse of this unusual and international success story:

1996

Together with two Swedish colleagues Markus Adam founded today’s ICU tech GmbH.

2000

Great meeting in Sweden – ICU Scandinavia AB wants to make something new with us.

The new company name — ‘A Brand New World Poland LTD’. These were the times…

The first job, and already on a cosmic scale — an instruments and computer simulator of a solar observation satellite, commissioned by the Stockholm Observatory for their ESA (European Space Agency) project. A lot of learning, and full success!

2001- 2016

ESA project was opening every door: dozens of new projects in all throughout the world: Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Finland, USA, Japan, China, India…

Team enlargement, new headquarters, then another one, adapted to the increasing scale of activities and responsibilities.

2009

First ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certification for ICU tech GmbH Switzerland.

2015

With the spin-off from ICU Scandinavia, Markus Adam has acquired a majority stake in ICU tech GmbH.

2017

The Polish subsidiary is now also ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified.

2019

In Poland, we moved into new business premises, which significantly improved and increased our production capacity

2021 – 2023

One of many, but one of the largest – a project of a mobile medical device, supported by the EU and intended for compression therapy. Certification in progress, will be available on the market soon.

2024

New CEO for ICU tech in Poland.

LegFit is ready for the market.

1999

Poland is booming and blooming, and Mariusz Krzyzanski, ICU tech Sp. z o.o. future founder, was looking for new possibilities.

FUTURE

An instinct of innovation

Continuous development is the one thing that does not change in ICU tech.
In the industries we specialise in, the future started long ago – and we are always one step ahead.

That’s why it’s so convenient to develop with technology partner
such as ICU tech.

THREE MOST IMPORTANT LETTERS

ICU, ISO, YOU

It’s not the quality certificates we are working for – it’s YOU.

ICU tech is to enable, optimize and automate, so that
our customers’ endeavors could grow by focusing
on what’s important, not on what’s urgent.

IT, technology, medical, or any other industry disruptor can find us as a partner they looked for: easy-going in everyday communication, but strictly quality-driven in everyday work.

Because perfection should never
have a day off.

Markus Adam

FOUNDER

Markus Adam is the visionary founder and CEO of ICU tech GmbH, which he established in 1996 as a multinational enterprise with roots in both Sweden and Switzerland. An electrical engineer by training, Markus’s entrepreneurial spirit and insatiable thirst for knowledge have been the driving forces behind ICU tech’s growth and success in the medtech industry.

Known for his open-mindedness and innovative approach, Markus has cultivated a company culture that embraces new ideas and encourages experimentation. His extensive network within the medtech world, combined with his deep expertise in regulatory affairs, has positioned ICU tech as a leader in the field.

Markus’s leadership style is characterized by trust and empowerment. He believes in delegating significant responsibilities to his employees, fostering an environment where team members are encouraged to make their own decisions. In a unique approach to promoting a positive work culture, Markus replaced the traditional “blame game” with a stuffed chicken, injecting a sense of humor into problem-solving processes.

With decades of experience, Markus continues to guide ICU tech with the same
enthusiasm and forward-thinking approach that inspired its founding. His commitment to innovation and quality has been instrumental in shaping the company’s trajectory and reputation in the medical technology sector.

Outside of his professional life, Markus is an avid mountain biker and curling

Entrepreneurial thinking is a matter of course for her. She has been responsible for managing and administering the accounts for over 20 years and knows ICU tech’s financial situation almost better than her own. It is important to her that employees receive their wages on time and she ensures that customer invoices are issued correctly and supplier invoices are paid on time.

She enjoys spending her free time outdoors hiking, e-biking and tending to her many plants on the terrace.

Dominique Kim

Outside of work, Kaspar finds balance and inspiration in nature. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys spending time in the mountains and near or on water, engaging in various activities that fuel his passion for exploration and adventure. This connection with nature not only provides relaxation but also refreshes his innovative spirit, contributing to his holistic approach to engineering and problem-solving.
